I’ve eluded to a super secret (if I told you, I’d have to kill you) project that I’ve been working on a few times recently. This poll is a part of it. I’d really like to know how many of you folks are using the M2M Production Calendar (CALNDR) to track workdays, weekdays, holidays, etc.

The current production(SCCALN) and work center calendars were built on foundation or approach that seems to be very outdated.
We have tried to do some custom reports using this table and had to build work arounds because of table structure.
I use it to determine sales/workday. Without it, you end up counting off days.
We just populate the cal at the end of the year so we can enter our jobs – complains if it is not updated.
I really have no idea whether we use it or not.
Dennis, are you using SQL with the SCCALN table?
Pat, what have you done with that table? I agree that the table structure is awful. The production calendar screen is difficult to use as well.
I’m creating a new system and will share it when it’s done. I’m trying to decide how best to pull workday information from the SCCALN table if enough people were using it.
Set it up 11/3/1997 to get MRP and Scheduling running. We keep it and the WC CAL sccalnw (107 EA work centers) out a year at least. We have run MRP everyday since for planning.
Scheduling is still a work in proccess from MS Project base to Avanced P&S. Our jobs choke APS(syncronizer) and SFM. They are supposed to work seamlessly together.
