It was cute, but I meant what I said. I made a promise to myself that I would go to PASS 2010. Well, last night I pulled the trigger and purchased my ticket to go to PASS. I am thrilled and can’t wait to go.
Last night I was busy writing up ideas and things I want to do at PASS. This is what I have so far.
- Meet Paul Randal and Kimberly Tripp, see if they do indeed have Jedi powers.
- Spend time with the Brian and Devin Knight and ask some technical questions about a “secret” project I’m working on.
- Meet Buck Woody and see for myself why he’s so “infamous.”
- Try not to make too big a fool of myself.
So, now I have to make flight and hotel reservations, buy a good netbook to take notes, umm….
Should I buy a kilt?
Can’t wait to see you folks there. More to come!

Yup, get the kilt.
I want to go, but my employer won’t send me.
Sounds familiar, I sat there reading tweets last November and said there’s no way I’m missing out on PASS 2010. The kilt, hmmm…
Yes, a Kilt. I’ll call BK and DK and see what I can set up for ya.. but be warned.. BK rolls in and out of Pass pretty quickly.. you’ll want to catch him during an ‘after event’.
I’ll be there!

(JeffV, I pay my own way, I mean who wants their kids to go to college anyway?
Paul Randal and Kimberly Tripp have Jedi powers, maybe this year I’ll have the guts to introduce myself.
Hahaha, that feeling is awesome. At my first Summit in 2007, I remember sitting in a session by Linchi Shea, and I’d read every one of his blog posts maybe a hundred times. I wanted to turn to everybody in the audience next to me and say, “DO YOU KNOW WHO THAT IS? IT’S LINCHI FREAKIN’ SHEA!” Hahaha.
It makes a huge difference knowing people ahead of time through Twitter, SQLSaturday, and blogs. It really increases your enjoyment of the event. Just make sure to wear a name tag that says @Made2Mentor, because that’s how everyone will recognize you.
Nice “The Golden Ticket”. Hope to bump into you at PASS.
JeffV, you’ve actually foreshadowed my next post on the subject. Stay Tuned.
And BTW, I hope to meet all of you folks at this year’s PASS.
[...] my Own Way to PASS Summit 2010 and You Should Too. A few months ago, I wrote an article about how thrilled I was to be going to PASS this year. Some of you may have gotten the impression from that article that I was given a Golden Ticket. I [...]
