I love learning new things.
I couldn’t help but in a small way feel like Luke Skywalker when he first felt the force. I’ve been trying to get access to a SQL 2008 Server for the longest time, and it’s finally happened. I wrote and published my first SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) report today. Yes, I know I’m a huge geek and being overly dramatic, but “You know, I did feel something. I could almost see the remote.”
Anyway, I just wanted to let my readers know, both of you, that I’ll be posting more about SSRS in the future. After I’m more familiar with it; I’ll compare and contrast it to Crystal Reports for use by my fellow Made2Manage Geeks.
Until then, may the force be with you…. or something.

Isn’t it funny how when we have a major accomplishment it makes you feel like you have been given a million bucks?

[...] David Stein touches SSRS for the first time – I had this exact same “whoa” experience when I first saw SSRS, SSAS and SSIS. I’ve spent my whole career just diving into the engine, and then I crack open these tools and say to myself, “My God, it’s full of stars!” (Sorry, changed movie tracks there.) [...]
